Using our system, you can send and receive text
messages, as well as place phone calls. However, you need to know a few things
before you can start sending SMS.
First, you need to have access to a phone number. You
can get your own Online Sms Box phone number from your account dashboard.
Alternatively, you can rent a Online Sms Box short code. You can also purchase
new phone numbers directly from Online Sms Box.
Next, you need to select your Online Sms Box number
when you are creating messages. You will see a number on the left side of your
account dashboard under the Phone Numbers menu.
You can then use the phone number as the From number
for text messages. When sending longer messages, Online Sms Box will split them
into two. This will allow you to send one message with up to 160 characters,
and another message with up to 50 characters.
If you want to test sending and receiving SMS, you can
create a free account on Online Sms Box. This will give you a free Online Sms
Box phone number and a small preloaded balance. It will also give you access to
the Console Dashboard. This is where you can see all of your Online Sms Box
credentials.
You can send and receive SMS on a free account, but
you cannot place outbound calls. If you need to make an outbound call, you will
need to use a validated phone number.
If you want to send a text message to a non- Online
Sms Box phone number, you will need to create a Manual Sender ID. These can be
Alphanumeric Sender IDs, Liquid Sender IDs, or Message Service IDs. You must
create these IDs with opt-out information.
